“To all the people watching, I can never ever thank you enough for your kindness to me and I’ll think about it for the rest of my life. All I ask of you is one thing: please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it’s my least favorite quality, and it doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they would get, but if you work hard and you’re kind, I’m telling you, amazing things will happen.”
Wu Tang acapellas over beats sampled from Beatles songs. I’m not usually a fan of this kind of stuff, but it’s really well done. this coming from someone that generally doesn’t listen to the Beatles and holds Rza’s production work as sacred.
Leno is a moron, as evidenced by the fact that he had Kimmel on his own program for a short interview segment. My favorite quotes include:
[Asked by Leno what he hasn’t yet hosted, but would like to] “Oh, this is a trick, right? Where you get me to host The Tonight Show and then take it back from me?”
[Asked by Leno what the best prank he ever pulled was] “The best prank I ever pulled was I told a guy that—five years from now—I’m gonna give you my show. And then when the five years came, I gave it to him, and then I took it back almost instantly.”
which is why I haven’t really been using my computer, which is why I haven’t really been updating. more of those 2009/decade lists I promised, maybe, and also probably a new blog from me in the next few weeks, maybe.
